Overview

In this role you will lead onshore civils and piling activities, overseeing early works to meet standards and project specs. You will work within the onshore construction team to ensure safe, efficient delivery and resource readiness. You help manage compliance, QA/QC, and risk controls throughout the lifecycle, from mobilization to handover. This position offers impact in shaping onshore construction delivery and safety culture on a major energy transition project.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce HSE policy and contractor compliance for the project
  • Ensure safe, efficient, structured delivery of construction activities per the project schedule
  • Plan mobilization and demobilization of resources to meet scheduling needs
  • Verify personnel competence and qualifications for the scope of work
  • Audit construction processes and implement recommendations
  • Maintain MOC compliance throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure execution plan readiness and mitigate execution risks
  • Review Contractor QA/QC and Inspection plans
  • Maintain company inspection, monitoring and hold points
  • Inspect works for compliance with drawings, specs and scopes of work
  • Identify and close out non-conformances
  • Input to schedules as requested by Construction Planner
  • Review and verify contractor progress reports before updates
  • Understand EPCM commercial terms and negotiate contractual matters
  • Apply analytical, logical thinking to problem-solving
  • Assess working conditions, environment, equipment applications and hazards
  • Understand safety legislation, permits to work, CDM, COSHH, and permits process
  • Implement the Construction Safety Plan

Key requirements

  • Minimum HNC in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
  • ECITB certification in temporary works or equivalent
  • CSCS Gold Card or higher and current SMSTS certificate
  • Management experience in engineering construction
  • Effective communication with stakeholders, both verbal and written
  • Methodical, independent work ethic and attention to detail
  • Familiar with Project Management Systems and construction practices
  • Proven experience in a similar senior construction management role
  • Ability to train and develop team members
