Overview

In this role you will provide hands-on IT support for a UK-based engineering team, covering deskside to server infrastructure for about 100 developers. You’ll operate within a dispersed group to maintain end-to-end IT infrastructure and help meet current and future business needs. The position blends Windows server/client support with hardware, AV, and network tasks, offering scope to influence reliability and security. This is a practical, customer-facing role with diverse tactile responsibilities and a strong impact on service availability.

Responsibilities

  • Support Windows client and server OS across current and legacy environments
  • Build and configure gaming hardware and related components when needed
  • Manage hardware installation, racking, cabling, and deployment of images via WDS/SCCM
  • Monitor Windows infrastructure health, apply security patches, ensure uptime
  • Handle customer relations, provide guidance, and escalate issues per procedures
  • Set up, repair and upgrade AV equipment for large corporate campuses and sites
  • Act as SME in technical support; provide efficiency recommendations
  • Maintain inventory, logs, and data for metrics tracking
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for AV maintenance and repairs
  • Input data for daily work ticketing system
  • Provide reports on equipment malfunction, repairs, and workarounds
  • Maintain organization and neatness of AV cables and equipment

Key requirements

  • Experience in IT support, preferably in R&D environments
  • Strong knowledge of Windows client/server OS (latest and legacy)
  • Familiarity with networking concepts: DNS, DHCP, Active Directory
  • Experience in hardware setup, rack, cabling, and deployment
  • Experience with image deployment using WDS and SCCM
  • Hyper-V and System Center Suite experience preferred
  • PowerShell scripting experience desirable
  • Asset tracking and inventory maintenance experience
  • Experience with monitoring Windows infrastructure and security patching
