Overview

In this role, you will own the design, validation and delivery of Kubernetes-based microservices configurations, enabling reliable, scalable deployments across development to production. You’ll work within Webex Engineering to drive GitOps, automation, and governance, using modern observability and policy tooling to improve reliability and security. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate delivery with AI-assisted configuration practices and a self-service platform. Responsibilities

  • Design, codify, test, and deliver Kubernetes-based microservices configurations (Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps) using Kubernetes and Helm
  • Create reusable base configs with environment overlays and enable safe promotion across dev, staging, and production
  • Drive GitOps with Argo CD, implement canary releases and validation gates, manage secrets via HashiCorp Vault and Kubernetes Secrets
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate configuration-as-code development, validation, and optimization
  • Tackle configuration, policy, observability, and data service challenges with a data-driven approach using Prometheus and Grafana
  • Own end-to-end configuration quality and governance with Open Policy Agent, ensuring secure, compliant deployments and reproducibility (backup/restore, DR)
  • Develop a self-service platform with Backstage and Argo CD to enable declarative deployments and promote standard processes

Key requirements

  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • Strong Kubernetes and microservices experience
  • Experience with GitOps (CI/CD)
  • Analytical degree in Computer Science or related field
