Overview

In this role you lead the technology strategy and engineering direction for enterprise platforms within Corporate Solutions. You’ll work across business and tech teams to drive innovation, solve scale challenges, and develop engineering talent while delivering secure, resilient, and high-performing solutions for global client experiences. You will influence platform health, reliability, and performance, shaping reusable patterns and best practices. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role in a culture of innovation and customer-focused delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for scalable, secure software delivery
  • Drive architecture standards and technology strategy across teams
  • Hands-on design reviews, prototyping and complex problem solving
  • Design and implement distributed, API-driven, event-driven, cloud-native solutions
  • Champion modern engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, observability, reliability)
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and opportunities to improve outcomes
  • Partner with product, architecture, security, and platform teams to translate business goals into tech solutions
  • Lead root cause analysis of production incidents and drive reliability improvements
  • Influence technical direction across organizational boundaries and establish reusable patterns and best practices
  • Accelerate innovation by adopting modern platforms and tooling
  • Mentor engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning
  • Communicate strategy, risks and trade-offs to senior leadership
  • Support talent development and act as a trusted technical adviser
  • Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform health

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years designing, building and operating large-scale software systems
  • Deep expertise in one or more modern programming languages and stacks
  • Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, APIs and event-driven architectures
  • Strong cloud, containerisation, infrastructure automation, and modern delivery practices knowledge
  • Recent experience applying AI tools and integrating AI/ML into software products
  • Experience with CI/CD, source control, automated testing, and productivity tooling
  • Strong data platform knowledge (relational and NoSQL) and integration patterns
  • Ability to influence technical direction across teams without direct authority
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
