How you’ll make a difference
Help support the effective management of public finances by joining the Children’s Department as a Finance Officer. In this key role, you will provide a range of high-quality, cost-effective financial management and support services, helping budget holders make informed decisions and ensuring financial processes are accurate, timely and efficient.
What you will be doing
- As a key point of contact for budget holders, you will be responsible for preparing accurate budget monitoring information, working closely with managers to gather, analyse and report on financial data.
- You will build effective working relationships with budget holders, communicating regularly face to face, by telephone and via email to ensure financial information is up to date and supports informed decision-making.
- It will be your responsibility to monitor and maintain financial records, ensuring information is accurate, timely and reported in line with agreed deadlines.
- You will provide a responsive and customer-focused service, ensuring requests and enquiries from internal and external customers are followed up promptly and resolved effectively.
What we need from you
- It is essential that you have good numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to analyse information accurately and present it clearly through reports, presentations and other business correspondence.
- You will be confident using IT systems and software, with the ability to manage data effectively and produce accurate financial and performance information.
- We are looking for someone who can manage competing priorities and work to deadlines, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and within required timescales.
- You must be able to work on your own initiative, using sound judgement to organise and prioritise your workload effectively.
- Ideally, you will have experience of using Dynamics 365.
What you need to know
- Salary pro rated to hours worked.
- This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Badminton Road, Yate and working from home.
