Overview
As Electrical Technical Director you will lead engineering services design and coordination for complex projects from our London office. You’ll steer business strategy, manage project profitability, and foster long-term client relationships. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with high-level delivery oversight, governance, and mentoring. You will work with cross-functional teams to shape electrical solutions for data centres and other assets within a zero‑carbon, sustainable-building agenda.

Responsibilities
- Lead development, design and coordination of building services engineering; supervise project delivery
- Support Directors with business strategy and management; assist in project feasibility and fee proposals
- Engage with clients to establish requirements and manage stakeholder communication
- Prepare management reports and adjust schedules as needed; monitor project status
- Develop engineering controls, instrumentation, and operation systems for building services
- Conduct surveys and evaluations of existing electrical/mechanical installations
- Ensure commercial targets and margins through financial oversight
- Lead and mentor junior engineers; oversee construction monitoring and site delivery
- Support tendering and procurement of MEP contractors and equipment
- Coordinate engineering services across concept to detail design; ensure compliance with standards
- Represent the company at technical meetings; deliver technical papers
- Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance; align with RED Project Delivery Process
- Involve in office management activities with senior team
Key requirements
- BSc/BEng in appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent
- MCIBSE/MIEE or HND/HNC with relevant experience or equivalent
- Chartered Engineer status
- Significant experience in asset replacement design for data centres in operational environments
- Experience managing projects abroad (desirable)
- Strong health and safety knowledge and regulatory understanding
- Knowledge of contract law and business regulations
- MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Flexible, self-motivated; able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Strong presentation, leadership and mentoring skills
- Experience with international working and global consultancy operations
