Overview
As Production Manager in Renishaw’s Assembly department, you will lead a 50–70 person team to deliver on-time, quality products within budget. You’ll align production plans with customer requirements across sites, drive continuous improvement, and steward safety and cost targets. You will collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure new products meet process capabilities and quality standards. This role offers varied shifts and significant scope to shape operational performance and culture.

Responsibilities
- Create and implement monthly production plans and communicate requirements across staff
- Ensure adherence to Quality Assurance disciplines and drive corrective actions for non-conformances
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering to ensure product/process capability for new developments
- Report monthly department performance against KRAs and manage the budget to control costs
- Lead waste reduction initiatives and ensure proper waste segregation and recycling
- Manage SyteLine manufacturing system aligned with forecasts and stock policies
- Control inventory levels and maintain PIC accuracy; manage design changes to minimize obsolescence and stock buildup
- Maintain staffing levels, conduct performance reviews, and develop training plans to enhance capability
- Foster a strong quality culture and ensure Health and Safety compliance across the department
Key requirements
- HNC/Degree in Engineering or equivalent engineering experience
- 2–3 years of personnel management in a high complexity, high variety manufacturing environment
- Good computer literacy with Word & Excel
- Effective communication skills at all levels
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Full driving licence (travel between Renishaw sites)
