Associate Diector Civil and Structural Engineering

Overview

In Swansea, an established engineering consultancy seeks an Associate Director to join its senior leadership. You will combine technical leadership in civil and structural engineering with client management and strategic growth. You will oversee projects from inception to completion and expand the firm’s market presence through networks and bids. This role offers influence on project delivery, team mentorship, and company growth in a dual-discipline practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee civil and structural projects from inception to completion
• Provide leadership and technical direction to the project staff
• Act as senior point of contact for clients, contractors and stakeholders
• Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and lead stakeholder engagement
• Identify new opportunities and secure project opportunities via network and business development
• Support strategic growth and development of the business
• Contribute to fee proposals, tenders and commercial negotiations
• Mentor and develop junior and senior team members

Key requirements

• Chartered Engineer with minimum 5 years post-chartership experience
• Chartered membership of MIStructE or MICE
• 15+ years’ professional project design experience
• Extensive experience across building structures and civil engineering
• Strong portfolio of completed projects in both disciplines
• Experience managing projects through full lifecycle
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management experience
• Proven leadership and people-management capability
• Established industry and client network
• Experience in business development and winning new work
