Overview
As Group Financial Controller, you lead the Controllership function for the McLaren Group, owning end-to-end financial control, reporting, and governance. You’ll partner with executive leadership and the Board to ensure accurate financials and a robust control environment. The role blends technical accounting, consolidation, and external audit management to support strategic decision-making. You will shape the Group’s financial control standards and lead a high-performing Controllership team to enable the business to grow responsibly.

Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end close and reporting for the Group, including consolidation and related-party accounting
- Act as Group authority on IFRS and technical accounting matters and maintain accounting policy
- Lead external and internal audit relationships and ensure timely audit delivery
- Prepare materials for Audit & Risk Committee, Board, and executives with clear conclusions
- Design and enhance the financial control framework, including segregation of duties and fraud risk management
- Lead the Controllership team, develop talent, and strengthen leadership capability
- Oversee balance sheet governance and substantiation of significant judgements
- Drive transformation to simplify and automate close, control, and reporting processes
- Own shareholder and lender reporting, covenant compliance, and collaboration with treasury and tax
Key requirements
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent Chartered Accountant qualification
- significant post-qualification experience in complex international organisations
- experience at Group Financial Controller/Head of Financial Control level in a large, multi-entity group
- extensive experience in Group consolidation, statutory reporting, and external audit delivery
- ability to interact credibly with executives, Boards and Audit & Risk Committees
