Overview
As Production Engineer – Mechanical, you ensure engineering support for the Production Department, focusing on solving manufacturing issues and improving processes to enhance quality and reliability. You work with prototypes, feed design learnings back to the design team, and help prepare clear design documentation. You also design jigs and fixtures and drive manufacturing improvements in a cross-functional setting. This role offers impact on product quality and process efficiency within Weatherford’s engineering ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- support prototype manufacture including component procurement, assembly and test
- feed back prototype learnings to the design team for design iteration
- provide and assist with design documentation (BOMs, drawings, work instructions)
- design and organize construction of jigs and fixtures
- identify and implement process improvements to boost quality, reduce lead-time and costs
- offer technical support for resolution of assembly/test process problems
- investigate corrective/preventive actions and recommend actions
Key requirements
- 3-6 years relevant experience
- Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
- proficient in CAD for design of precision assemblies
- good understanding of engineering materials and mechanical manufacturing processes
