Overview

In this Category Manager role, you will shape indirect procurement strategy across multiple sites and clients, delivering value for money and cost reductions. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to align best procurement practices and maximise opportunities for Unipart. Expect to manage supplier relationships, review contracts, and lead procurement improvements with The Unipart Way. This is a visibility- and influence-led position with a focus on sustainability and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement commercial sourcing strategies for indirect services and goods to deliver value for money and cost reduction across multiple categories, sectors, and clients
  • Ensure ongoing contractual coverage for key services and goods, reviewing and negotiating terms to mitigate commercial exposure
  • Manage key supplier relationships for long-term strategic partnering and benefit opportunities
  • Support internal stakeholders and commercial account teams through supplier performance reviews, engagement, and client presentations
  • Implement procurement policies, processes, and procedures, acting as expert point of contact for senior stakeholders
  • Lead change using The Unipart Way principles and deputise for the Procurement Manager when needed

Key requirements

  • Experience in multiple category sourcing delivering significant savings and innovative solutions
  • Strong negotiation skills and understanding of standard terms and conditions to mitigate risk
  • Excellent relationship-building and ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong IT, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Highly organized, prioritizes effectively, adaptable to a fast-paced environment
  • Clear, concise communicator with strong customer focus and collaborative approach
  • Awareness of ISO 20400 and experience contributing to sustainability/Net Zero targets
  • MCIPS qualified
