Overview

In this role you will oversee procurement categories and supplier relationships within a construction environment, focusing on improving performance and delivering value across business units. You will develop category strategies, supply market insights, and lead initiatives with project teams to achieve commercial outcomes. The role emphasizes stakeholder influence, cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to sustainability goals within procurement and supply chain activity. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to drive measurable improvements and support net-zero objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage allocated procurement categories and supply chain relationships
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, trade contractors and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor supplier performance against KPIs and identify improvement areas
  • Develop and implement category and procurement strategies
  • Identify opportunities to improve commercial value, processes and supply chain performance
  • Support supplier negotiations and resolve commercial or performance-related issues
  • Provide market and supplier insight to support business decisions
  • Coordinate workstreams and initiatives, ensuring delivery against objectives and timescales
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to influence and drive positive outcomes
  • Support wider sustainability and net-zero objectives across procurement and supply chain activities

Key requirements

  • Proactive and commercially minded individual with excellent relationship-building, communication and influencing skills
  • Construction experience preferred but not essential
  • Comfortable engaging with people at all levels and influencing stakeholders
  • People-focused, commercially driven mindset
  • Experience in supplier or category management and delivering KPI-driven results
