Manufacturing Engineer – Precision Engineering Location: Leicester (On-Site) Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 benefits Job Type: Permanent | Full Time Manufacturing Engineer | CNC | Precision Engineering | Machine Shop | NPI | Lean Manufacturing A leading precision engineering manufacturer is looking to appoint an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support its machine shop operations in Leicestershire. Manufacturing complex precision-machined components for sectors including aerospace, defence and automotive, the business is investing in continuous improvement, new product introduction and manufacturing excellence. This is an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys improving machining processes and working closely with production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and optimise CNC and manual machining processes.
- Define tooling, fixtures, routings, work instructions and manufacturing standards.
- Support NPI and Design for Manufacture activities.
- Lead continuous improvement projects focused on quality, productivity, cost and safety.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and provide technical support to production.
Skills & Experience:
- Min. 5 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within a precision machining or machine shop environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, turning, milling, grinding and manufacturing processes.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T and tight tolerance components.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, process improvement and problem solving methodologies.
- Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Production Engineering preferred.
