Overview
In this role you will optimize and extend a high-performance C++/Python workflow for a multi-physics HPC cluster researching fusion energy. You join a small, expert team of developers and scientists focused on scalable scientific simulations. You will instrument, profile, and improve a large templated C++ codebase used in single- and multi-core environments. This position blends cutting-edge compute with a practical, research-driven environment.

Responsibilities
- instrument and profile existing codebase to identify bottlenecks
- optimise C++ for high-performance scientific simulations on single-core and multi-core
- analyse results and plan improvement work program
- work within a team of experienced C++ developers and scientists
- contribute to both development and experimentation in HPC workflows
