Overview

As a Maintenance Engineer on Nights (4 on 4 off), you’ll perform fault finding and preventive maintenance to maximise plant reliability. You’ll collaborate with the operations team to keep production up, while upholding food safety and accurate documentation. You’ll identify improvement opportunities that boost safety and efficiency, contributing to Greencore’s mission to make every day taste better. This role offers hands-on problem solving in a fast-moving food manufacturing environment with a clear impact on uptime and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fault finding and routine/ preventative maintenance on plant and equipment to maximise reliability
  • Diagnose issues, implement root-cause fixes and address equipment problems
  • Maintain clear communication with operations about maintenance activities and schedules
  • Respond to internal customer needs to maximise production uptime according to priorities
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and controls during all tasks
  • Record stock movements from Engineering stores to maintain accurate stock control
  • Complete and keep documentation audit-ready
  • Identify opportunities to improve Health and Safety and operational efficiency

Key requirements

  • Completed accredited apprenticeship or equivalent experience with Level 3 qualification
  • Ability to diagnose maintenance issues accurately
  • Ability to prioritise daily schedule and activity order
  • Experience requesting engineering parts via stores/Shift Manager
  • Escalation to Shift Engineering Manager for major process changes or performance issues
  • Clear communication with cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own schedule
  • Fault finding and diagnosis of maintenance issues
  • Planned and preventative maintenance on plant/equipment
  • Root-cause analysis and fixes
