Overview

In this role you support the Clevedon aerospace operations by diagnosing faults, performing preventative and corrective maintenance, and improving a broad range of production machinery. You will collaborate with operators, managers and contractors, driving reliability and continuous improvement across CNC equipment and electrical installations. You’ll work within SKF’s safety, quality, and conduct standards to keep equipment available and efficient, contributing to the aerospace division’s performance. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with broad impact on uptime and process excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventative maintenance per schedules
  • Resolve breakdowns and fault find to root cause
  • Source and purchase spares
  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance
  • Test and inspect electrical installations
  • Communicate with operators, managers, engineers, and contractors
  • Support the introduction of new ways of working and good practices
  • Foster a continuous improvement culture
  • Support supplier and subcontractor development
  • Operate in line with SKF Code of Conduct, EHS and Quality Management System

Key requirements

  • Industry-recognized training with an apprenticeship and related qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC, HNC or HND)
  • CNC environment experience with production processes
  • Solid maintenance practices and engineering standards
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently
  • Flexible team support and willingness to work overtime occasionally
  • Effective communication with colleagues across the team
  • Collaborative mindset and teamwork
  • Self-motivation and initiative
  • Solid electrical skills and working with electrical systems
  • Applied mechatronics knowledge (mechanical + electronic integration)
  • Experience with preventative maintenance practices
