Overview

In this role you will safeguard MUFG’s data by monitoring, detecting, and investigating data-related security risks across enterprise, cloud, and AI environments. You will implement and operate data security controls, including DLP and data classification, and partner with security engineering to strengthen controls. You will support governance, risk, and compliance activities and ensure safeguards across data handling. You will work in a dual-hat setup across banking and securities units, shaping data protection in a large financial organization. This role offers impact in a global bank focused on trusted, secure data handling.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct day-to-day security monitoring with a focus on data security controls (DLP, data access, data handling) across enterprise, cloud, and AI tools
  • Investigate and respond to data security incidents, alerts, and policy breaches including data leakage and misuse
  • Operate and enhance data protection capabilities (data classification, monitoring) to identify and mitigate data risk across endpoints, networks, and cloud
  • Oversee the secure use of data within AI tools and platforms, ensuring safeguards against unintended exposure
  • Support governance, risk, and compliance activities related to data security
  • Collaborate with security engineering and architecture teams to provide operational insights on data risks and controls
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data security controls, detection rules, and processes to reduce risk

Key requirements

  • 5+ years in a cybersecurity role focusing on data security, DLP, or insider threat detection
  • Hands-on experience with DLP, data classification, and insider threat monitoring and investigations
  • Proven ability to triage, investigate, and respond to data security alerts and policy violations
  • Experience operating and tuning DLP and data classification tools across endpoints, networks, and collaboration platforms
  • Experience in complex environments with multiple priorities and ambiguity
  • Exposure to cloud security concepts and CSPM tools; awareness of AI-related data security risk (desirable)
