Overview
In this Senior Programme Manager role, you will lead a strategically important defence programme within the Maritime division, guiding governance, stakeholder engagement, and delivery across UK and international partners. You will steer the concept and assessment phase for the Defence Wide Radar Proposition (DWRP), coordinating technical, operational, and business-case activities. You’ll forge an integrated programme office, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and drive evidence-based investment decisions. This role offers impact on national defence capability and the opportunity to shape cross‑functional, multi‑discipline delivery at scale.
Responsibilities
- Mobilise and deliver a complex, multi-disciplinary programme (modelling & simulation, operational demonstration, industrial strategy, economic appraisal, programme office activities)
- Develop and implement programme governance, controls, reporting structures, and delivery strategy
- Establish and lead an integrated programme office coordinating UK and international stakeholders
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues and dependencies across all workstreams
- Lead development of the programmatic solution, operating model, and delivery organisation for current and future DWRP phases
- Build and maintain relationships with senior MOD, military, government and industry stakeholders
Key requirements
- Experience managing large, complex defence, government or national infrastructure programmes
- Proven track record establishing governance, controls and delivery organisations
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across technical and business domains
- SC clearance eligibility or ability to obtain SC clearance
