Overview
In this role you will support a leading construction, engineering and projects team on high-value, complex disputes and non-contentious matters. You will handle UK adjudications, arbitrations and TCC litigation, while also contributing to dispute avoidance and advisory work for a range of cross-border clients. You will draft, negotiate and advise on construction contracts and related documents, and help maintain key client relationships. This position offers exposure to large-scale matters and a chance to grow within a collaborative, client-focused firm culture.
Responsibilities
- Act for national and international clients on high-value construction disputes across UK adjudications, arbitrations, and TCC litigation
- Provide dispute advisory services including ADR such as mediation
- Handle matters like final account, delay, build quality, insolvency, bond claims, ACM cladding, and insurance-related claims
- Advise government bodies, sponsors, developers, funders, and project teams on dispute avoidance and resolution mechanisms and procurement techniques
- Draft, negotiate and advise on construction contracts, consultant appointments, collateral warranties, financial securities, letters of intent, and reliance letters
- Develop and share group knowledge and know-how to support the team
- Ensure compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations and other regulatory obligations
Key requirements
- England and Wales qualified solicitor at 1 PQE or due to qualify by September 2026 (NQ)
- Experience of contentious construction work with exposure to UK adjudications and/or TCC litigation, including fire safety related matters
- Strong verbal and written communication with diverse clients
- Excellent time management and stakeholder management
