Overview

In this role you will shape the core communication platform for NHS-scale care, driving architectural direction and technical standards across a product group. You will lead multiple squads, align teams, and mentor engineers to deliver scalable, reliable features that improve patient care. You’ll work closely with clinicians, designers, and product managers to embed product thinking and user-centered development. This is a mission-driven opportunity to raise the bar in healthcare communication and impact millions of lives.

Responsibilities

  • Set long-term architectural vision for a product group and define technical strategy
  • Align multiple squads to deliver cohesive, scalable solutions
  • Champion product engineering mindset and embed user-centric practices
  • Lead architecture discussions, code reviews, and best practices to improve quality
  • Mentor engineers across levels and foster a healthy, high-performing culture
  • Drive continuous improvement of tools and CI/CD pipelines
  • Engage in user research sessions and collaborate with clinicians and patients to understand needs

Key requirements

  • Experience with large-scale, distributed systems for mission-critical apps
  • Proficiency in C# (.NET Core), React, and TypeScript or willingness to learn quickly
  • Strong API design and cloud services understanding
  • Ability to design scalable architectures and define long-term technical strategies
  • Ability to align multiple teams toward cohesive solutions
