Senior UX Writer / Content Designer

Overview

As a UX Writer / Content Designer, you craft the words that guide users in critical moments, shaping how safety-focused software communicates under pressure. You’ll collaborate with designers, researchers, and product teams to keep language consistent, clear, and accessible across onboarding, navigation, and incident workflows. You’ll learn and apply public safety terminology, balancing clarity with domain needs. This role offers the chance to influence design decisions early and contribute to a safer world through better user experience.

Responsibilities

• Create clear UI copy across onboarding, navigation, and microcopy for complex digital products.
• Define and evolve tone of voice and content guidelines for the product suite.
• Partner with UX designers, researchers, and product managers from discovery to launch.
• Test and iterate copy using user research, field feedback, and usability tests.
• Develop domain fluency in public safety terminology and decide where domain language fits.
• Contribute language patterns and content standards to the design system.

Key requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing product copy/content for complex web and mobile products.
• A portfolio showing problem-solving through product copy and design thinking.
• Strong grounding in user-centered design and hands-on experience with Figma (or similar tools).
• Ability to articulate trade-offs between user needs, brand voice, and business constraints.
• Experience contributing content patterns to a design system; bonus if you’ve built language components.
• Track record collaborating with accessibility specialists to meet WCAG standards.
