Overview

In this role you will advise a broad client base on construction matters, spanning non-contentious contracts and contentious disputes. You will work within a collaborative, forward-thinking firm known for high-quality work and a dynamic culture, supporting project delivery, procurement strategy, and complex disputes. You’ll draft and negotiate key contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC), handle submissions, and contribute to business development and training. Responsibilities

• Drafting and negotiating construction contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC, bespoke)
• Advising on procurement strategy, risk allocation, and regulatory compliance
• Supporting project delivery and contract administration
• Managing disputes including defects, delays, payment issues, and professional negligence
• Acting in adjudications, arbitrations, mediations, and TCC litigation
• Collaborating with Real Estate, Corporate, Banking, and Commercial teams
• Preparing legal submissions and supporting partners in complex disputes
• Contributing to business development and internal training initiatives

Key requirements

• 4+ years PQE in construction law (UK-based)
• Strong experience in non-contentious construction work
• Experience or interest in contentious construction matters
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Commercial awareness and pragmatic problem solving
• Strong interpersonal and client relationship-building abilities
• Enthusiasm for mentoring junior colleagues and team development
