Overview
In this Senior Risk Manager role, you will lead risk management across complex infrastructure programmes within Turner & Townsend’s Controls & Performance group. You’ll work with project delivery teams to design, implement and continuously improve risk processes, ensuring robust data and clear management actions. You’ll be part of a Midlands-based team driving risk management excellence on high-profile projects, shaping outcomes through integrated controls and performance insights. This role offers collaboration with an award-winning risk community and opportunities to influence major programmes at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop risk management teams to deliver consistent, value-adding risk processes across complex projects/programmes
- Plan and tailor risk management processes to client needs while aligning with best practice
- Drive continuous improvement in risk management and project controls to increase client benefits
- Ensure risk data quality and robustness, supporting scrutiny and project context
- Support implementation and embedding of changes to risk management approaches
- Act as risk SME on major projects or programmes
- Collaborate with Integrated Project Team to establish a robust Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and support change control
- Design and deliver risk training and coach team members in risk practices
- Facilitate risk workshops with SMEs to identify and update risks and uncertainties
- Maintain risk registers and ensure quality control of risk data and reporting
- Drive mitigation actions and develop measurable management responses
- Articulate benefits and requirements of risk management to project teams
- Manage QSRA/QCRA activities and interpret outputs to focus project efforts
- Support efficient contingency drawdown processes
- Engage with supply chain to assess supplier risks and ensure alignment with project controls
- Ensure alignment of risk information with other project controls disciplines
Key requirements
- Experience managing risk across multiple projects or programmes
- Experience defining or implementing risk management approaches
- Familiarity with risk standards (ISO31000, APM, Orange Book, IPA)
- Experience in Quantitative Risk Analysis (Monte-Carlo) and interpreting outputs
- Familiarity with risk tools (ARM, Predict!, Risk Controller, riskHive, Xactium)
- Practical QRA experience with common software (Primavera Risk Analysis, @Risk, Safran)
- Risk qualification such as APM Risk Certificate Level 2, IRM or MoR (desirable)
- Experience leading a team (desirable)
- Familiarity with NEC contracts (desirable)
- Security clearance or eligibility (desirable)
- UK driving license or ability to travel to client sites (essential)
