Overview

As Shift Engineer, you will lead on-site engineering during your shift to ensure flawless maintenance and building services across the ultra-luxury hotel. You’ll work with the Engineering Team on upkeep, energy efficiency, and safety compliance to support a world-class guest experience. You’ll contribute to shaping the pre-opening phase and ongoing engineering capability. This is a high-impact role in a landmark property that aims to set new standards in luxury hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily routine and preventative maintenance across guest rooms and hotel areas
  • Perform daily routine and preventative maintenance across guest rooms and hotel public areas
  • Respond promptly and discreetly to engineering and maintenance requests
  • Execute the preventive maintenance programme to meet brand and regulatory standards
  • Support the implementation of energy-efficiency and sustainability initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to enhance maintenance systems and improve energy performance
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, organised, professional condition
  • Ensure technical knowledge, certifications, and skills remain current with evolving engineering standards

Key requirements

  • Recognised trade certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, Carpentry, or Plumbing
  • Strong working knowledge of general maintenance and engineering operations
  • Previous experience in an ultra-luxury hotel is desirable
  • Strong work ethic with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding service to guests and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet timelines
