Job Description:

Parcks focuses on building a system that is uncompromising in privacy, security, and performance. But code is fragile, and trust can shatter on a single failure. We seek a QA/Test Engineer who treats testing not as routine, but as warfare, one who breaks what others build so our users never have to.

Your mission is to be the last line of defence between our users and disaster. You will test not only for correctness but for resilience: simulating attacks, failures, and edge cases that others never consider.

You will turn doubt into discipline. Every release that leaves port must be seaworthy, every feature must withstand storms, every function must perform under pressure. Where others see “quality assurance,” you will see trust assurance, the guarantee that Umbrella OS is safe to live under.

You will work across kernel, storage, networking, AI, and UI. Your mission is not only to test each in isolation but to ensure the fleet works together as a whole. Bugs, regressions, crashes, leaks, you will hunt them all, with no mercy, until the user is safe.

This role is more than testing; it is about building confidence in rebellion. Each time you sign off a build, you are telling the world: “This system will not betray you.”

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans across all OS layers (kernel, drivers, UI, Capsule, Mod).
  • Build automated test frameworks for performance, security, and regression testing.
  • Simulate attacks, failures, and stress conditions to ensure resilience.
  • Collaborate with release managers and CI/CD engineers to integrate testing into pipelines.
  • Track, document, and communicate issues with precision and urgency.
  • Proven experience in QA, software testing, or systems validation.
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools and frameworks (Selenium, PyTest, Robot, etc.).
  • Strong ability to debug and analyse across different platforms.
  • Familiarity with OS-level testing (networking, storage, kernel).
  • Background in security testing or penetration testing.
  • Contributions to open-source QA projects.
  • Experience with reproducible builds and test-driven development.
  • Record of finding critical vulnerabilities before release.

Tools & Technologies

  • You’ll thrive if you see bugs not as inconveniences but as betrayals — and if you take joy in hunting them down. You believe trust must be earned, and your work ensures SP and everything we do at Parcks earns it with every release.

Duration & Time Commitment

Full-time. Continuous role — because testing never ends.

  • Competitive salary aligned with mission-driven executive roles.
  • Remote-first flexibility, with gatherings in Brighton’s Flagship for deep work.
  • A place at the helm of one of the most ambitious software revolutions of this century.
