Overview

In this role you support the Data Protection Officer to shape privacy strategy and manage personal data risk across the Partnership. You will influence cross‑functional teams to embed privacy into projects and provide assurance to senior governance bodies. You’ll help ensure compliance with data protection laws and act as a liaison with regulators and data subjects. The role offers hybrid working and a permanent, senior position with a strong focus on governance, DPIA management, and incident handling.

Responsibilities

  • Shape information and data strategies to safeguard the Partnership in the short and long term
  • Serve as a deputised contact with ICO and other authorities, and handle privacy rights requests
  • Design, maintain and review data protection policies, guidance, and standards for Partners, customers, and suppliers
  • Lead DPIA methodology and promote Privacy by Design/Default across higher risk projects
  • Establish and maintain data privacy accountability frameworks, risk reporting, and controls across the organisation
  • Oversee data breach response and rights resolution in day-to-day privacy operations
  • Recruit, manage and develop a privacy team and create training packages
  • Lead organisation-wide Data Privacy and Information Security awareness programmes
