Overview

As a Senior Process Engineer at Stantec, you will lead process engineering delivery for clean water and wastewater projects, from concept through to implementation. You will work with cross-disciplinary teams to develop practical solutions, perform calculations and assessments, and own technical work packages. The role focuses on resilience, environmental performance and infrastructure development for the UK water sector. You will mentor others, contribute to bids and continuous improvement, and play a key part in delivering meaningful outcomes for communities and the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop process engineering solutions for clean water and wastewater projects
  • Perform and review calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments, and technical deliverables
  • Own technical work packages ensuring quality and on-time delivery
  • Support design development from feasibility through to construction support
  • Contribute to treatment optimisation, asset improvement, resilience and infrastructure programmes
  • Support site investigations, performance assessments, testing and other investigations
  • Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental and hydraulic specialists to create integrated solutions
  • Engage with clients and project teams to provide practical engineering advice
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to technical development
  • Contribute to bids, frameworks, innovation and continuous improvement across the team

Key requirements

  • Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience in process engineering within the water, wastewater or related sectors
  • Practical experience in water or wastewater treatment processes, process design and/or operational optimisation
  • Experience developing process calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments and technical deliverables
  • Experience taking ownership of technical tasks or work packages within multidisciplinary projects
  • Good understanding of UK water industry challenges, standards and best practice
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage own workload and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
