Quality Manager / Senior Quality Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead quality across major civil infrastructure projects in Swindon, partnering with the Head of Quality to shape strategy and ensure delivery excellence. You will drive quality initiatives, audits, and training, and develop Quality Plans for bids and projects. You will support supplier quality, governance, and EDMS-based document control, contributing to ISO 9001 and ISO 19650 processes. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong impact on project success and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage quality initiatives across the business
• Assist the Head of Quality with strategic planning
• Train and educate staff on quality matters
• Provide quality support and deliverables for contract bids (Quality Plans)
• Carry out quality planning and deliverables for contracts
• Deliver audits to company standards and schedule
• Lead Quality Improvement Projects
• Support bid activity with quality deliverables
• Act as initial quality manager on new projects
• Perform supply chain assessment and development duties
• Carry out ISO 9001 auditing activities
• Develop and deliver training for non-quality staff
• Review certification requirements and develop related processes
• Assist in reviewing and revalidating Quality Procedures
• deputise for Head of Quality Management when unavailable
• Maintain document control accuracy and ensure ISO 19650 compliance

Key requirements

• Experience in Civil Engineering, Construction, or Heavy Infrastructure industries
• Strong understanding of project administration procedures
• Computer literacy (Excel and Word)
• Ability to perform internal (contract) and external (supplier) quality audits
• Familiarity with EDMS systems (Themis/ProjectWise/4Projects/A-Site)
• Comprehensive knowledge of document control processes and ISO 19650
