Senior ServiceNow Developer

Overview

Senior ServiceNow Developer to design, build, and stabilize enterprise HRSD solutions within a global framework. You will partner with HR, IT, and vendor teams to translate business needs into scalable, secure ServiceNow outcomes. You’ll lead from design to delivery, enforce engineering standards, and drive end-to-end outcomes with a focus on HR integrations, lifecycle events, and maintainable platforms. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that shapes the employee experience at scale in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of HRSD enhancements in a global enterprise
• Own HRSD technical design and configuration quality with secure SDLC
• Provide hands-on HRSD expertise, focusing on HR integrations (e.g., SuccessFactors)
• Define and enforce engineering standards to prevent customization creep
• Mentor developers and perform peer reviews to ensure quality
• Manage integrations (APIs/web services, data mapping) for reliability and performance
• Support platform reliability: monitoring, security audits, remediation
• Coordinate with ServiceNow Support and internal teams on upgrades and patching
• Lead vendor resources and ensure deliverables meet National Grid expectations
• Triage new demands to align with guardrails and risk posture
• Design and implement HRSD Lifecycle Events for JML experiences (onboarding, moves, offboarding)
• Configure lifecycle event structures to coordinate across HR, IT, Facilities, Payroll, Security
• Partner with HR and Identity stakeholders to ensure auditable, compliant journeys

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Strong hands-on ServiceNow development experience (JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting)
• Solid understanding of secure SDLC practices
• Strong HRSD domain capability with enterprise delivery experience
• End-to-end HRSD implementation experience; exposure to S2P advantageous
• Experience with Employee Center and Virtual Agent in HR experiences (preferred)
• Experience designing and supporting REST/API integrations, web services, data mapping
• Strong analytical ability to translate requirements into technical designs and delivery plans
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence across IT and business leadership
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across geographies; strong stakeholder management
• Hands-on experience configuring HRSD Lifecycle Events for JML and driving automation across departments
• Experience translating onboarding/movement/leaver requirements into lifecycle activity design
• Experience configuring lifecycle event components including definitions, activity sets, stages, triggers, and exception handling
• Certifications: CSA, CIS – HRSD, HRSD Admin; preferred: ServiceNow Application Developer/Developer certification
