In this role you drive safe, independent living by leading Bristol City Council’s Accessible Homes team. You’ll guide technical professionals to deliver home adaptations across public and private sectors, ensuring high standards, value for money, and safe practice. You collaborate with caseworkers, therapists and housing colleagues to provide a joined-up service centered on residents. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the technical team to deliver home adaptations across sectors
- Oversee technical standards, contractor performance, quality assurance, risk, and service performance
- Support delivery of the adaptations programme and budget
- Provide expert technical advice and backstop to complex cases
- Collaborate with caseworkers, occupational therapists, and other housing and social care colleagues to enable joined-up service delivery
Key requirements
- Strong construction, building, surveying, housing or property expertise
- Experience of leading, supporting and developing technical staff
- Knowledge of construction standards, compliance and health and safety
- Experience of managing contractors, quality, and performance
- Excellent judgement, communication and partnership-working skills
- Commitment to inclusive leadership, customer service and continuous improvement
- Experience of home adaptations or accessible housing is advantageous
