Overview
In this contract role in Plymouth, you will support the engineering team to ensure technical compliance with design specs, delivering safely and to the required quality. You will assist with as-built drawings, quality records, and site surveys, while helping manage progress, safety and RAMS. You will apply site engineering practices on concrete, drainage and piling work, and provide engineering support to resolve technical issues. This is a hands-on role shaping on-site delivery within a defence context.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings
- Establish systems to record work and update the Project Quality Plan
- Participate in developing quality check sheets and carrying out surveys
- Assist with site safety, environmental & quality inspections
- Manage systems to review progress against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity
- Record and test workmanship and materials (drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork)
- Provide engineering support to overcome technical problems and answer technical queries
- Set out works constructed within tolerances from site control
Key requirements
- Understanding of TP144 Site Engineer standards
- Experience in Temporary Works Design and acting as a Temporary Works Coordinator
- Proficiency in Site Engineering practices and PTS Civils
- Relevant academic qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng)
- Experience in the use of Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical & digital levels)
- Experience in reinforced concrete structures using system formwork
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and writing RAMS
- Good standard of IT skills
