Overview
In this role you will join an established legal team in Romford to manage a mixed civil and family law caseload from instruction through to resolution. You will advise on contract disputes, property matters, debt recovery and contentious probate, while handling divorce and related family issues. You draft pleadings and statements, represent clients at interim hearings, and liaise with counsel and experts, negotiating settlements and mediations. Responsibilities
- Advising on contract disputes, property matters, debt recovery and contentious probate
- Handling family law matters including divorce, financial remedy, cohabitation disputes, private children cases
- Drafting pleadings, statements of case, applications, witness statements and settlement agreements
- Representing clients at interim hearings and advocating when required
- Liaising with counsel, experts and third parties
- Negotiating settlements and participating in mediation
Key requirements
- PQE of at least 2 years in litigation or family law
- Understanding of civil procedure and family law processes
- Ability to manage a caseload independently from instruction to completion
