Presales Thermal Application Engineer

Overview

In this role you will support pre‑sales and engineering efforts for high‑density data center cooling solutions. You will translate customer needs into technically and commercially compelling options, collaborating with Engineering and Sales across EMEA. You will create technical documentation, participate in client meetings, and contribute to product improvement with a continuous‑improvement mindset. This position offers exposure to global projects, hands‑on thermal management challenges, and a chance to become a reference point for customers in the thermal chain.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs and extract customer requirements
• Evaluate trade-offs to meet customer needs, budget, and timelines
• Collaborate with Engineering on SFAs related to thermal products
• Develop technically and price‑competitive cooling solutions with internal/external partners
• Provide hydronics guidance on projects with high density setups and CW units
• Supply pre‑sales technical support for proposals, quotes, and tenders
• Support technical meetings to become a reference point in EMEA for the thermal chain
• Create and review application documentation (drawings, specs, electrical layouts, presentations)
• Suggest design improvements to Product Management and Engineering
• Deliver product and application training to the EMEA AE community and Sales
• Support WT activities and factory visits as needed
• Attend client meetings to support colleagues and Sales
• Ensure compliance with International Trade Compliance regulations per ITC program

Key requirements

• Engineering background or equivalent education with field experience
• Experience in the Datacenter industry focusing on high density applications
• Strong knowledge of Data Center High Density trends and thermal management complexities
• Strong understanding of Uptime Institute Tier levels and related thermal management design
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and customer/sales orientation
