Overview
In this role, you will act as a hands-on Quantity Surveyor within a residential developer’s commercial team. You will manage cost control, tender preparations, and progress reporting across multiple new-build projects in Central and North London. You’ll work closely with site teams and external partners to optimise value while meeting deadlines and safety requirements. Responsibilities
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with architects/clients
- Prepare and analyse costings for tenders
- Value completed work and arrange payments
- Perform risk, value management and cost control
- Advise on procurement strategy and subcontractor allocation
- Maintain awareness of different building contracts in use
- Prepare feasibility studies and determine client requirements
- Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
- Identify and manage commercial risks
- Provide advice on contractual claims and health & safety implications
Key requirements
- 5+ years’ experience with a UK residential developer on residential new builds
- CSCS Card (must have)
- Degree or Master’s in Quantity Surveying
- Full clean driving licence
- Computer literate
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated and well-presented
- Experience on multiple sites with minimal supervision
