Overview
In this role you will lead transportation projects within Stantec’s Alberta practice, guiding road, highway, and multimodal initiatives from planning through delivery. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet regulatory requirements and client goals, delivering high-quality designs and compelling proposals. You will mentor staff, manage client relationships across Alberta and Northern Canada, and help shape a culture of innovation and growth. This position offers hybrid work with in-person collaboration as needed, and exposure to diverse transportation challenges at scale.
Responsibilities
- Manage design-focused projects for roadways/highways, intersections, and related facilities to meet regulatory standards
- Develop scopes of work, LOE estimates, and project schedules
- Provide mentorship and quality control for plan, specification, and estimate packages
- Support leadership and management of the regional practice and mentorship of engineering staff
- Support account management teams to cultivate relationships with key clients in Alberta and Northern Canada
- Offer planning and pursuit strategy that enables multidisciplinary collaboration and leads proposals
- Familiar with alternate delivery methods such as design-build
- Foster a diverse, driven culture developing tomorrow’s engineering solutions
Key requirements
- Professional Engineering Registration in Alberta (P.Eng.)
- Knowledge of local design guidelines, regulatory requirements, and conditions
- Ability to manage transportation staff for project delivery
- Proposal preparation, project management, design experience, and contract negotiation
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Proficiency with Office 365
