Overview

In this role you will develop fluid systems within a multi-disciplinary team, shaping safe and compliant mechanical designs for nuclear projects. You will deliver both 2D and 3D CAD outputs, participate in design reviews, and ensure alignment with safety, quality, and schedule targets. The position offers exposure to complex infrastructure and a global engineering community, with a focus on continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities

  • Develop 2D CAD drawings including PFDs and P&IDs
  • Create 3D CAD/BIM models, plant layouts, piping design, isometrics, MTO, GA drawings and sketches
  • Perform layout optimisation across design phases
  • Participate in 3D model reviews, layout reviews, design reviews and technical meetings
  • Ensure compliance with design safety factors, tolerances, standards, codes and requirements
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for coordinated design
  • Maintain design process records and CAD/BIM documentation databases
  • Report status to management and meet targets for quality, time, and budget
  • Support issue resolution with stakeholders and ensure adherence to H&S policies
  • Meet project and quality requirements and maintain required standards

Key requirements

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or similar
  • Ability to work within an engineering team to realise designs
  • Familiarity with 2D CAD systems (AutoCAD)
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD/BIM systems (Revit, Inventor, Solidworks, Solid Edge, Siemens NX, PDMS, AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar)
  • Professional qualification in an engineering related field
  • SC Clearance or capable of achieving it
  • Good communication skills, written and oral
  • Delivery-focused and able to meet time and budget constraints
  • Integrity and ability to inspire trust
