Overview
In this Senior Quantity Surveyor role you will help maximise gross margin on high-end residential contracts by managing costs, procurement and contract claims. You’ll work closely with the Contracts Manager to control budgets, handle sub-contracts and valuations, and support final accounts. The position is based in SW London with a reputable, quality-driven contractor delivering prestigious projects. You contribute to accurate cost forecasting and timely payments, shaping profitable delivery of luxury builds.
Responsibilities
- Procurement and sub-contract administration to support project delivery
- Manage contract accounting and monthly valuations to ensure timely payments
- Prepare tender packages and shortlist/award sub-contracts in consultation with Contracts Manager
- Check and approve sub-contractor payment claims; liaise to resolve queries
- Assess and cost variations; maintain the Variations Account and monthly valuations
- Formulate and submit contractual claims; manage final accounts
- Prepare cost/value reconciliations and ongoing procurement gains reporting
- Maintain project records and align with contract programmes and Critical Path Schedule
Key requirements
- Degree qualified or related qualifications (preferred)
- Minimum 7 years’ experience with a reputable main contractor
- Residential project experience (new build and refurbishment)
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Fully conversant with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Working knowledge of programming and/or project management software
- Current driving licence
- Can commute to SW London
