About the Role

VE3 is looking for an experienced Dynamics 365Finance & Operations Platform & DevOps Engineer to take technicalownership of D365 F&O environments, deployments, release management, AzureDevOps and platform operations.

We are looking for someone who understands how a largeenterprise D365 F&O platform is administered, deployed, maintained,upgraded, monitored and supported across development, test, UAT and productionenvironments.

The successful candidate will work closely with D365developers, functional consultants, solution architects, infrastructure/cloudteams and customer stakeholders to provide a reliable and controlledengineering and release capability for Dynamics 365 F&O.

The role would suit someone with a background in DynamicsAX / D365 F&O administration combined with Azure DevOps, releaseengineering, production deployment and Microsoft cloud technologies.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Manageand support Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations environmentsacross development, test, UAT, sandbox and production.
• AdministerD365 F&O environments through Microsoft Lifecycle Services andassociated Microsoft platform services.
• Coordinateenvironment provisioning, refreshes, database movement and environmentmaintenance activities.
• Managesandbox-to-production release processes and production deploymentactivities.
• Planand execute application updates, platform updates, servicing activitiesand environment upgrades.
• Maintainenvironment configuration and ensure consistency across the D365landscape.
• Supporttroubleshooting of application, deployment, environment andinfrastructure-related issues.
• Coordinateplanned maintenance and minimise disruption to business-criticalenvironments.
• Ownand continuously improve Azure DevOps processes supporting D365 F&Oengineering.
• Design,configure and maintain build and release pipelines.
• Automatebuild, packaging, validation and deployment processes wherever practical.
• Managebranching, source control, pull requests and release governance.
• Establishappropriate deployment gates, approvals and quality controls.
• Maintainrelease artefacts and traceability between requirements, code, builds anddeployments.
• Workwith development teams to improve deployment reliability and shortenrelease cycles.
• Troubleshootfailed builds and deployments and coordinate remediation.

Release & Deployment Management

• Ownthe technical release process from development through to production.
• Createand maintain deployment schedules, release plans, rollback plans andimplementation runbooks.
• Coordinatedependencies across technical and functional workstreams.
• Managesoftware deployable packages and validate packages prior to productiondeployment.
• Performor coordinate production deployments under controlled change-managementprocesses.
• Ensurereleases are tested and technically validated before promotion.
• Supportout-of-hours or scheduled production releases when required.
• Performpost-deployment validation and coordinate resolution of release-relatedincidents.

Dynamics AX / D365 Technical Administration

• Bringstrong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX and Dynamics 365 F&Oarchitecture and administration.
• UnderstandD365 application topology, environments, databases, integration points anddeployment architecture.
• Supportdatabase refreshes, data movement and environment cloning activities.
• Assisttechnical teams with troubleshooting performance, integration andenvironment issues.
• Workwith developers on D365 development lifecycle and deployment requirements.
• Supportimplementation and management of integrations between D365 F&O andother enterprise platforms.
• SupportAzure services used within the wider D365 solution architecture.
• UnderstandAzure identity, networking, monitoring and integration concepts relevantto enterprise D365 implementations.
• Workwith Microsoft Entra ID for identity and access requirements.
• Supportintegration of D365 with Azure-hosted services and enterpriseapplications.
• Workalongside cloud engineering teams where D365 solutions depend on Azureservices.

Power Platform

• Understandthe relationship between Dynamics 365 F&O, Microsoft Dataverse and thePower Platform.
• Supportenvironments where D365 F&O integrates with Power Apps, Power Automateor Dataverse.
• Understandenvironment administration and deployment considerations across theMicrosoft business applications ecosystem.
• Experiencewith dual-write or other D365 F&O/Dataverse integration approacheswould be advantageous.

Production Operations & Support

• Providetechnical support for production D365 F&O environments.
• Diagnosedeployment, integration, configuration and platform issues.
• Workwith application support teams to perform root-cause analysis.
• Supportincident, problem and change-management processes.
• Maintainoperational documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Identifyrecurring issues and introduce automation or engineering improvements toreduce them.
• Participatein major incident resolution where D365 platform expertise is required.

Monitoring & Performance

• Monitorplatform health and identify potential operational issues.
• Workwith Microsoft monitoring and Azure monitoring capabilities asappropriate.
• Analyseerrors, logs, batch processes and environment telemetry.
• Supporttroubleshooting of performance issues and technical bottlenecks.
• Workwith Microsoft support where product-level escalation is required.

Security & Governance

• Followsecure deployment and environment-management practices.
• Supportaccess control and privileged access processes for D365 environments.
• Maintainseparation between development and production responsibilities whererequired.
• Ensureproduction changes are appropriately authorised, documented and auditable.
• Supportcustomer security, compliance and change-control requirements.

• 3+years of hands-on Dynamics 365 F&O experience.
• Strongprevious experience with Dynamics AX would be beneficial.
• Provenresponsibility for D365 production deployments.
• Experiencesupporting multiple D365 environments within enterprise programmes.
• Experiencemanaging releases into production.
• Experienceworking within structured change-management and production-supportprocesses.

Certifications
