As a Maintenance Engineer, you will provide expert mechanical maintenance and repair for CNC and precision equipment, reducing downtime across multiple Leicester sites. You will diagnose faults, perform preventative tasks, and refurbishments while upholding safety standards. You’ll work in a respected engineering business to keep complex machinery running and support ongoing operations. This role offers a clear impact on production uptime and machinery reliability. Responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical maintenance across CNC and precision engineering equipment
- Carry out repairs to gearboxes, shafts, pumps, drive chains and bearings
- Diagnose and resolve breakdowns to minimise production downtime
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance and machinery refurbishments
- Perform mechanical fault finding, including PLC interrogation where required
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and legal standards
- Support maintenance operations across multiple sites in the Leicester area
Key requirements
- 3 years of engineering/manufacturing experience
- Hands-on experience maintaining CNC machinery
- Fault finding and repair of multi-axis CNC machines
- Working knowledge of Fanuc and Siemens control systems
- HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Up-to-date understanding of maintenance technologies
