Overview
In this role you support Abbott’s high-volume manufacturing operations by performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing and fixing equipment issues, and supporting equipment changes with the projects team. You work in a clean room environment, maintaining bespoke automated systems to protect yields and efficiency. You contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and uphold strict quality records. You join a cross-functional, innovative engineering team driving cutting-edge biosensor manufacturing.

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on automated equipment to sustain performance and yields
- Respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and faults with rapid root-cause analysis
- Monitor equipment performance and contribute to process yield and efficiency improvements
- Provide input to the Projects Team for changes to equipment and processes
- Fault find and troubleshoot bespoke equipment; support improvements to production processes
- Maintain high standards of record keeping in line with quality systems
- Collaborate with peers across departments in a clean room/manufacturing environment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and project-focused activities
Key requirements
- Experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Set-up of precision assemblies and use of machine tools
- Fault finding and problem solving
- Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or higher qualification (ONC/HNC/HND or degree)
