Overview
As a Cost Manager in AECOM’s Buildings & Places Infrastructure team, you will steer cost management across major infrastructure projects from inception to completion. You’ll work with a cross-functional, client-facing group to deliver accurate, value-driven cost plans, procurements, and final accounts, strengthening client relationships and project value. You’ll operate on highways, rail, and power sectors for high-profile clients, shaping commercial outcomes and performance standards. Responsibilities
- Deliver all aspects of cost management from inception to completion across the project lifecycle
- Conduct feasibility estimates and cost planning with minimal supervision
- Manage contract procurement, tender documentation, and value engineering
- Maintain commercial awareness, risk management, and dispute resolution throughout projects
- Oversee post-contract cost reporting and agreement of final accounts
- Foster high standards of professional competence and client-facing excellence
- Drive performance standards and technical excellence via internal networks
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to grow the portfolio
Key requirements
- Experience in Cost Management/Quantity Surveying within infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts (PSC and ECC)
- Experience of cost/commercial management in integrated, multi-organisation teams
- Experience in a client organization or through secondment/colocation is beneficial
- Ability to identify and influence key client stakeholders to grow workload
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
- MRICS accreditation or working towards it
- Excellent communication with clients and teams
