Cost Management Director

Overview

As Cost Management Director, you will lead cost management across East of England capital projects, aligning with client objectives and regional growth. You’ll work with a team of Directors to deliver on lifecycle costs from inception to post-occupancy, mentoring staff and shaping delivery strategy. You’ll be the primary client interface, driving business development and securing commissions. Your role supports the region’s leadership, delivering value through cost governance and client-focused solutions. Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver cost management on a variety of capital projects across the East of England
• Direct client liaison and act as day-to-day interface to ensure objectives are met
• Manage, mentor and develop staff on technically complex projects (5m–200m costs)
• Provide oversight, strategic guidance and audit/review across a project portfolio
• Develop and nurture client relationships and pursue new business opportunities
• Lead bid writing and conversion to secure commissions with high-quality standards
• Ensure delivery is resourced, well-managed, on time and to client satisfaction
• Challenge internal methods to demonstrate value for money

Key requirements

• Proven leadership within a cost management environment and mentoring capability
• Track record of winning new work and securing repeat business
• Strong client relationship skills and ability to identify opportunities
• Experience delivering cost management outputs to agreed timescales and quality
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management; Chartered status (RICS or equivalent)
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within region
• CSCS card holder
• Experience in a consultancy or client organisation providing full spectrum Cost Management services
