Overview

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead commercial delivery for a range of construction projects across sectors, from new builds to refurbishments, within a Tier 1 contractor environment. You’ll manage multiple projects autonomously, optimize cost and value, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet client needs. This role offers exposure to diverse sectors and a clear impact on project outcomes and profitability. You will contribute to delivering high-quality, on-time projects from Bedfordshire offices.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial delivery across multiple projects in sectors such as commercial, education, healthcare, retail, leisure and hotels
• Monitor cost control, budgeting, and value optimization throughout project lifecycles
• Administer contracts and handle variations to protect commercial interests
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely procurement and subcontractor management
• Work autonomously on concurrent projects while reporting to senior stakeholders
• Support pre-construction activities with cost plans and risk assessment
• Contribute to the overall profitability and financial health of projects

Key requirements

• Degree qualification or relevant qualifications (stated as ideal)
• Experience with a reputable main contractor
• Experience across multiple sectors and project types (new build, design and build, refurbishment, fit-out)
• Ability to manage multiple projects autonomously
• Excellent commercial awareness
• Must be able to commute to Bedford, Bedfordshire
