Overview

As Category Marketing Manager at Ingredion, you lead regional category strategy and growth across product lines, translating global ambitions into regional actions. You’ll align sales, marketing and technical services to drive profitable category performance and customer value. The role blends market insight, demand generation, and innovation to support GTM execution and major customer initiatives. You’ll work hybrid from Manchester or Hamburg and collaborate across cross-functional teams to shape category plans and launches with consumer-first insights.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and translate the global category plan into regional execution and roadmap
  • Lead regional category strategy with market trends, needs, and technical inputs
  • Oversee category business performance including budget, strategic plan, and profitability analysis
  • Engage in customer meetings to inform solutions and support opportunity conversion
  • Monitor market intelligence and competitive landscape to shape strategy
  • Act as marketing lead for major category customers and shape account plans
  • Drive regional growth through cross-functional collaboration on annual growth plan
  • Collaborate on demand generation campaigns and sales enablement tailored to the region
  • Coordinate new product launches with strong value propositions and consumer insights
  • Identify regional priority customer problems and develop business cases for innovation
  • Support sales prospecting with target lists and track engagement with must-win customers

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science/Technology, or related field; postgraduate marketing qualification is a plus
  • Proven marketing experience in FMCG/food & beverage with B2B ingredients exposure
  • Strong expertise in strategic marketing, including product launches, value proposition development, and go-to-market execution
  • Solid business acumen with ability to perform financial/category analysis and translate strategy into sales-driven tactics
  • Excellent storytelling and communication skills for compelling, insight-led presentations and sales tools
  • Experience in international environments; fluent in English (written and spoken); SFDC and ingredient knowledge desirable
  • Share knowledge and expertise to support regional objectives
