Principal Engineer – Production Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design and manage manufacturing capabilities at QinetiQ Farnborough, overseeing production facilities, assembly, testing, and deliveries. You will drive continuous improvement, Lean Six Sigma, and 5S; lead a production team; ensure KPI targets for quality, yield and throughput. You will collaborate with product design and engineering to optimise processes and manage scheduling, inventory and safety. Responsibilities

• Optimise value streams and manufacturing workflows
• Implement digital production tools and capital equipment
• Promote Lean Six Sigma and strengthen quality control
• Manage risk, health and safety compliance, and production schedules
• Oversee asset and inventory management, including hiring, coaching and mentoring
• Collaborate with design/engineering on manufacturability, conduct root cause analysis
• Define and implement production processes, work instructions and training
• Monitor KPIs and maintain accurate documentation and parts kitting
• Lead production team development, engagement and 5S discipline
