Overview

As a Senior/Principal Structural Engineer, you will lead high-quality structural projects across concrete, steel and masonry, while partnering with UK clients to exceed requirements. You’ll report to the Specialist Structural Engineering Technical Lead and help grow the team’s technical capability across sectors beyond water and energy. Expect to design, inspect and report on structures, with hybrid office/home working from multiple locations. You will coach others and contribute to cross-disciplinary collaboration within Stantec’s supportive, growth‑oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of structural engineering projects across concrete, steel and masonry structures
  • Engage with UK clients to meet and exceed requirements through technical delivery
  • Design, inspect and produce reports for asset maintenance and modifications to meet standards
  • Collaborate across disciplines and support construction information flow for design & build projects
  • Coach and mentor others and contribute to development of technical capability
  • Support growth of the water business and other sectors within the firm

Key requirements

  • Previous structural design experience
  • Good knowledge of civil and geotechnical engineering
  • Awareness of other engineering disciplines for cross-functional collaboration
  • Good knowledge of construction (temporary and permanent) and information requirements for construction teams
  • Interest in coaching, mentoring and leading technical capability development
