Overview
In this role you will lead mechanical design for water and wastewater assets within Arcadis’ MEICA team, delivering innovative solutions on UK projects. You will work with cross-functional partners across multidisciplinary teams and client relationships to shape resilient water infrastructure. You’ll apply advanced digital design methods to meet safety, environmental, and quality standards, while growing technical leadership. This is a chance to contribute to AMP8/AMP9 pipelines and long-term framework work with a focus on sustainability and impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead and/or support design deliverables for water and wastewater systems
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (process, civil, structural, electrical, ICA)
- Ensure compliance with technical, safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Develop innovative, client-focused technical solutions for conveyance and treatment assets
- Provide design leadership and deliver on feasibility to detailed design stages
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and partners
- Promote MEICA capabilities internally and externally
- Capture and share key project knowledge and innovations
Key requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status (or nearing) with relevant institution membership (e.g., IMechE, IET, CIWEM)
- Significant delivery experience of process plant systems on complex projects, preferably water/wastewater
- Experience of design and construct projects using digital design platforms
