Overview

In this role you will drive cloud infrastructure delivery and migrations within Zopa’s Platform Tribe, partnering with engineers to improve the developer experience. You’ll build scalable IaC, container and cloud automation, and ensure platform services are secure, observable, and reliable. You’ll learn and apply AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD patterns while contributing to standards and documentation. You’ll also support production services through the on-call rota, helping shape the evolution of the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Own delivery of cloud infrastructure and migration work
  • Develop and improve infrastructure-as-code, containers, and cloud automation
  • Collaborate with engineers to understand needs and enhance developer experience
  • Ensure platform services are secure, reliable, observable and maintainable
  • Learn and apply AWS, Kubernetes and CI/CD patterns
  • Contribute to standards, documentation, code reviews and continuous improvement
  • Support production services via the on-call rota

Key requirements

  • Practical cloud experience in AWS, GCP, Azure or another major cloud environment
  • Container experience (Kubernetes or ECS)
  • Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform or similar)
  • Experience contributing to CI/CD and reliable software delivery
  • Ability to own projects and navigate ambiguity
  • Collaborative approach to enabling application engineers and improving their experience
  • Evidence of thinking across reliability, maintainability, security and operational readiness
  • Experience participating in an on-call rota or supporting production services
