Overview
As a member of the Commercial Strategy & Planning team, you will shape and drive strategic initiatives that underpin Amex GBT’s growth, with a focus on SME and customer-obsessed powerplays. You’ll partner with senior leaders across functions to articulate the long-term strategy and deliver executive-level recommendations. You will lead cross-functional projects, embed customer insights, and help redefine the commercial operating model to support software and services leadership. This role offers exposure to senior stakeholders and a fast-paced, transformation-driven environment.

Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leadership to develop and deliver the organisation’s long-term corporate strategy
- Prepare high-quality presentations, recommendations and executive materials for senior leadership and key business stakeholders
- Act as a strategic business partner to departments across the organisation, spanning Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Strategy, Finance, and Product
- Scope and lead cross-functional strategic projects, collaborating across commercial, operational, and corporate teams
- Influence stakeholders across levels by building relationships in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment
- Embed customer insights and feedback loops into strategy to align offerings with customer expectations
- Help redefine the commercial operating model (people, process, and technology) to support growth in software and services leadership
Key requirements
- 5+ years of experience in commercial strategy, business planning, or go-to-market roles
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to translate analysis into strategic recommendations
- Highly analytical, structured thinker with problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing cross-functional decisions
- Proven track record driving cross-functional transformation initiatives involving people, process, and technology
- Proactive, self-starting approach with ability to lead fast-moving pieces of work
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage from operational teams to executive leadership
- Experience deploying or improving commercial governance frameworks, operating models, and dashboards is a plus
- Familiarity with AI, automation, or digital tools for sales and marketing transformation preferred
