Overview

In this senior Finance Reporting Manager role, you will lead quarterly and annual financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, governance and timely delivery. You will coordinate with Finance, Actuarial, Risk and senior stakeholders to translate valuation outputs into clear financial results and explanations. You will own the reporting control environment, support audits and regulatory queries, and drive improvements to reporting processes for transparency and efficiency. This is a pivotal role contributing to the insurer’s financial reporting integrity and governance at a cross-functional level. Responsibilities

  • Lead quarterly and annual financial reporting including balance sheet, income statement, reserves and movements
  • Oversee production, review, reconciliation and analysis of financial results with sign-off recommendations
  • Analyse and explain results: drivers, assumption changes, variances, sensitivities, risks
  • Collaborate with Accounting and Actuarial to translate valuation outputs into financial results
  • Prepare governance commentary, disclosures and executive-facing materials
  • Own the financial reporting control environment with validation, peer review and documentation
  • Lead responses to internal/external audit activity and regulatory queries
  • Develop and deliver improvements to reporting processes to increase transparency and reduce cycle times
  • Act as SME for financial reporting and define best practices across reporting activities
  • Lead cross-functional workstreams and influence stakeholders in a matrix environment

Key requirements

  • Qualified Actuary (FIA/FFA) or Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent
  • Post-qualification experience in life insurance essential
  • Strong experience in life insurance valuation and financial reporting
  • Technical knowledge of IFRS, LUXGAAP and Solvency II
  • Experience leading financial reporting delivery and reviewing work
  • Strong analytical and control mindset, ability to challenge results and design controls
  • Experience interfacing Finance and Actuarial, communicating complex matters
  • IFRS 17 experience desirable
  • Strong audit and governance experience including responding to queries
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and aptitude for reporting systems and data flows
